The Lee Myung-bak government has begun to speak openly about scrapping the original Sejong City Development Plan. After President Lee’s announcement Wednesday of his intention to abandon the original plan, and his call for the development of a revised plan by Jan. 2010, Prime Minister Chung Un-chan made it clear through his remarks at the National Assembly yesterday that the revised plan would not include the relocation of government offices. Chung said, “It is preferable to focus on businesses rather than the relocation of administrative bodies.”

이명박 정부가 세종시 원안을 백지화한다고 대놓고 말하고 나섰다. 그제 이명박 대통령이 내년 1월까지 수정안을 만들라며 원안 폐기 뜻을 밝히더니, 어제는 정운찬 국무총리가 국회에서 “행정기관 이전보다는 기업 위주로 가는 게 바람직하다”면서 수정안에 정부 부처 이전은 포함되지 않을 것임을 분명히 했다.
