The 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) begins today in the Danish capital of Copenhagen. The conference, which lasts until Dec. 18, is a significant event with the goal of generating an “historic” agreement on preventing imminent climatic catastrophe. As such, it features participation from some 100 leaders of nations from around the world, including U.S. President Barack Obama.

기후재앙 막을 ‘역사적 합의’ 도출을 기대한다

제15차 유엔기후변화협약 당사국총회가 오늘 덴마크 코펜하겐에서 개막된다. 18일까지 열리는 이번 총회는 눈앞에 닥쳐오고 있는 기후재앙을 막을 ‘역사적 합의’를 도출하기 위한 매우 중요한 회의다. 그런 만큼 버락 오바마 미국 대통령을 비롯한 세계 100여개국 정상들이 대거 참석한다.
