As expected, yesterday the Lee administration sent back the Korean Government Employees’ Union (KGEU) documents it had filed for official recognition. Previously on Dec. 4, the Labor Ministry had picked apart the union‘s bylaws and demanded substantive revisions. One of the Labor Ministry’s demands included a 20 day deadline to convene together all of the union‘s members, who number more than 100 thousand, for a general meeting. This latest rejection of the union’s documents can be seen as a reaffirmation of the administration‘s intent to block the union from becoming a legalized entity.

정부는 공무원노조 설립 거부할 권한 없다

정부가 예상대로 어제 전국공무원노조(전공노)의 설립신고서를 반려했다. 노동부는 지난 4일 노조 규약의 일부 내용을 트집잡아 보완을 요구한 바 있다. 이 중에는 20일 안에 10만명이 넘는 조합원을 모아 총회를 개최하라는 어처구니없는 것까지 들어 있었다. 노조 설립을 막겠다는 의도로밖에는 볼 수 없는 생떼였다. 설립신고서 반려는 이런 생떼의 연장이라고 할 수 있겠다.
